What motivated you both to adopt a rescue dog?
We wanted to give a rescue dog that has already suffered enough a good life with lots of love.
What was your overall experience like with Rescue Dogs and Cats NL?
The interview and communication process were very smooth and pleasant. I really appreciated the effort in the team interviewing candidates in order to make sure you find the perfect match for the rescue animals.
In terms of the travel arrangements, it is a long journey by car from Lithuania to the Netherlands so when KungFu arrived, he was quite scared. It took us a long time and lots of patience and training to transform him into a happy, playful dog.
How has your life changed since KungFu joined your family last year?
It has changed for the better. He is the sweetest boy ever, and seeing all his progress and what a happy dog he is now is so fulfilling. Of course, it comes with a lot of new responsibilities, but we were aware of this from the beginning.
What is one piece of advice you would offer to those considering adopting?
Some rescue animals may come with some serious issues of anxiety and being fearful, and it will take time, patience, and effort to get them to a good place. In the end, it will be totally worth it but you need to be prepared for that.
