Banginukas means Little Whale in Lithuanian and it perfectly describes the size and gentle character of this big boy! Little Whale is around 3 years old where he spent 1 of those in the shelter. He is very social comparing to other kitties who being rescued to the shelter, hence we suspect he was once a house cat until his 'family' decided to let him roam into someone else's else without further search for him.
Little Whale stays in the first cat room next to the shelter entrance and with his loving character it's hard to believe why he hasn't been adopted yet. He is popular among the shelter volunteers where they refer him as a perfect cat - calm, sweet, loves sitting on human's lap and enjoys being held. He is a loyal friend to both humans and his fellow feline friends in the room!
Little Whale is generally healthy but do have a minor eye infection that requires eyedrop treatments. But per our experience similar issues are likely to be dissolved in a home environment where there is less stress and cleaner air comparing to the crowded cat rooms in the shelter.
In the pictures you can see Little Whale celebrating Christmas in the shelter last year (2023). A year has almost passed, and we truly hope for the upcoming Christmas he can spend it cuddling with his very own hooman in a forever home!
